Khaitan memorial tourney to be selection base for Asian jr

Chennai, May 14 (UNI) The 17th edition of the Smt Krishna Khaitan Memorial All India junior badminton competition to be held here from May 26 to 31, would be the selection tournament to pick the Indian team for the forthcoming Asian badminton championsip.

According to organising secretary Mr Sanjiv Sachdeva the Asian junior championship would be held in Malaysia in the second week of July.

The events for the competition, sponsored by the Express Shuttle Club would be for Boys and Girls under-19, 16, and 13 years, singles and doubles.

The country's leading junior players will be participating in the tournament to vye for a place in the squad for the Asian championship.
