
Hyderabad, February 21: The Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA) and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the official sanctioning body of professional golf in India, on Wednesday (February 21) announced the fourth edition of the Golconda Masters Golf Championship presented by Telangana Tourism which will be held at the Hyderabad Golf Club (HGC) from Thursday to Sunday (February 22 - 25), and will carry a prize purse of Rs. 30 lakh.
Besides India’s leading professionals, the 123 golfers field event will also feature professionals from countries such as Sri Lanka, South Africa, Bangladesh and Australia.
The top Indian professionals in the fray include Asian Tour regulars Khalin Joshi, S Chikkarangappa, Rahil Gangjee, Viraj Madappa, Himmat Rai as well as Shamim Khan (2017 PGTI Order of Merit champion), former champion Harendra Gupta (2015), Syed Saqib Ahmed (2018 PGTI Order of Merit leader), Udayan Mane and Honey Baisoya, to name a few.
The foreign challenge will be led by the Sri Lankan quartet of Anura Rohana, Mithun Perera, N Thangaraja and K Prabagaran as well as Australian Kunal Bhasin, Bangladesh’s Md Zamal Hossain Mollah and South African Albie Hanekom.
