Khalli announces ''gifts for poor'' on his birthday

Nahan, Aug 28 (UNI) The famous WWE wrestler the Great Khali alias Dalip Singh Rana has announced scholarships for 10 law students belonging to poor families in Sirmour district.

His uncle, Mohan Singh Rana today said Khalli, who himself could not get formal education and had to struggle his way to success, wanted that poor children from his area be educated and so made the announcement on his 36th birthday yesterday.

Mr Ashutosh Gupta, Chairman Dr Y S Parmar Society whith which Khalli has associated for philanthropic work, confirmed that letter from Great Khalli had been received to pay scholarship to ten students of Mata Bala Sundri college of legal studies Nahan, so that they could later help the poor to get justice from court of law.

Mohan Singh said that Great Khalli had also announced to release financial help to poor accident victims and those suffering from serious diseases.

He said that a sum of Rs Two lakh had been deposited with Panchayat Pradhan of area to release the amount to the deserving persons after proper verification.
