New Delhi, July 2: In a significant development for Indian indigenous sports, Sudhanshu Mittal has been re-elected as the President of the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI), while Upkar Singh Virk has been elected as the new General Secretary.
The elections were held at the KKFI headquarters in New Delhi under the supervision of Dr. Kamini Lau, District Judge (Retd.), who served as the Returning Officer. Govind Sharma was elected as Treasurer.

The newly elected governing body reflects continuity as well as a fresh perspective, with several former office bearers assuming elevated responsibilities. Upkar Singh Virk, who was Joint Secretary in the previous regime, now steps into the crucial role of General Secretary. Govind Sharma, an earlier Executive Member, takes charge as Treasurer.
Expressing his gratitude after securing another term, Mr. Sudhanshu Mittal stated: "It is an honour to once again be entrusted with the responsibility of leading the Kho Kho Federation of India. Over the past few years, we have worked tirelessly to elevate the sport's national and international profile. This renewed mandate inspires us to accelerate our vision for Kho Kho's global recognition and institutional growth."
Newly elected General Secretary Upkar Singh Virk shared his aspirations for the Federation's future: "Kho Kho is rooted in our culture, and its transformation into a modern, global sport is within reach. Our focus will be on structured development, expanding the sport's base, and bringing transparency and efficiency into the Federation's operations."
The KKFI also announced the full list of elected office bearers, including eight Vice Presidents, four Joint Secretaries, and 13 Executive Members. Additionally, Ashwini Bipin Patil and Monika will serve as athlete representatives on behalf of the Athletes Commission.
