India's Men's and Women's team have qualified for the semifinals of the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup.

On Friday, the two teams took part in the quarterfinals and blew away their respective opponents.

The Indian men's kho-kho team delivered a stellar performance to secure their spot in the 2025 World Cup semi-finals with a 100-40 victory over Sri Lanka. Led by Ramji Kashyap, Pratik Waikar, and Aditya Ganpule, India set the tone early, scoring 58 points in Turn 1 while preventing Sri Lanka from scoring via Dream Runs. Though Sri Lanka fought back in Turn 2 with Aniket Pote leading the charge, India maintained their momentum. In Turn 3, relentless attacking from Siva Reddy, V Subramani, and Waikar solidified India's dominance, taking the score to 100 points and sealing their place in the next round.

Meanwhile, the Indian women's team crushed Bangladesh with a resounding 109-16 win in their quarter-final clash. Captain Priyanka Ingle, supported by Nasreen Shaikh and Ashwini Shinde, led India to an early lead. A remarkable Dream Run in Turn 2 saw the trio of Ingle, Shinde, and Reshma Rathod dominate possession for over 5 minutes, adding crucial points. Rathod's spectacular sky dive in Turn 3 extended India's streak of scoring 100+ points in every match of the tournament. The team's impeccable defense ensured Bangladesh had no chance to recover.

The Indian men's team will be up against South Africa in the semifinal.

When will the Semifinal of the Kho Kho World Cup start?

The semifinal match between India and South Africa will be played on Saturday (January 18). The match will be taking place at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi and is set to start tentatively at 8:15 pm IST on Saturday. Nepal and Iran will contest in the other semifinal.

The Indian women's team shall also face South Africa women's team in their semifinal.

When will the Semifinal of the India Women's Team be played?

The women's team semifinal will start at 7 pm IST on Saturday at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. Uganda and Nepal will play the other semifinal.
