Kiamran Nabati Plans To “Eliminate” Nong-O In Pivotal Bout At ONE Friday Fights 81

By Mike Joseph

The tests that come the way of unbeaten Russian Kiamran Nabati have only grown tougher in ONE Championship. He has continued to pass every acid test placed in front of him. And with his sternest assignment awaiting him in two weeks, Nabati vows to make the most of the opportunity.

The 29-year-old meets former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama at ONE Friday Fights 81: Superbon vs. Nattawut on Friday, 27 September, inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Nabati always dreamed of reaching the world's largest martial arts organization. Three consecutive wins later and a knockout of Suablack Tor Pran49 at ONE Friday Fights 68 in June, Nabati now knows a huge performance against Nong-O could elevate him to the very top.

"I've been trying to get into ONE for a long time. I've come a long and difficult way to be here, and now, I am fighting the top opponents," Nabati said.

"I've always wanted this. I kept talking about it all the time, and now it's time to prove myself. It's my time to shine, as they say. But what really motivates me is that I've been given a fight with Nong-O, who is a legend of our sport. It's a big fight for me and my future legacy."

At 21-0 and a knockout win last time around to boot, Nabati brings as much momentum as one could hope to muster heading into ONE Friday Fights 81. But he isn't letting that confidence carry him away.

Once a longtime ruler of the bantamweight Muay Thai division, Nong-O defeated all comers. Even after losing the crown, he's never been an easy route for fellow contenders - with his brightest examples of this coming against Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai and Nico Carrillo.

As far as the unbeaten Nabati sees it, though, he's bringing a kill-or-be-killed mentality to Lumpinee Stadium and he promises to stop the Thai legend in emphatic fashion for his fourth straight victory in ONE Championship.

"It's no secret that his legs are his strength. And I'm going to eliminate his strengths. It is also no secret that my strength is my hands, but also my footwork," Nabati said, comparing the veteran. "We'll have to fight to the end, to the last drop of blood. And my job is clear - to step inside the ring and eliminate him."
