Kickboxing Great Superbon’s Top 3 Performances In ONE Championship

Former ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon Singha Mawynn will return to action for the first time since parting ways with his coveted gold strap, and he'll be looking for an emphatic finish.

The Thai standout locks horns with Tayfun Ozcan on Saturday, 10 June, at ONE Fight Night 11: Eersel vs. Menshikov, as the next chapter of his ONE Championship tenure gets under way in Bangkok, Thailand.

Before he takes the first step back toward his ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, let's look at three of the Singha Mawynn product's top performances in The Home of Martial Arts.

Giorgio Petrosyan: When the outstanding striker had the opportunity to become the first-ever ONE featherweight kickboxing king, the 148-fight veteran took the opportunity to put the "Super" in Superbon when he faced Giorgio Petrosyan for the vacant crown at ONE: FIRST STRIKE in October 2021.

Petrosyan had already made a name for himself inside the promotion, riding a six-fight winning streak into the pivotal clash. The intricacies of the clash made it all the more combustible, Superbon's performance all the more impressive.

After a back-and-forth opening frame that saw both men try to get the edge over one another, and after tricking Petrosyan into dropping his guard, Superbon went high to starch the Italian kickboxing GOAT with a head kick in 20 seconds of round two to win the inaugural crown.

Marat Grigorian: When Superbon met Grigorian in March 2022 at ONE X, Superbon's confidence from the Petrosyan knockout was on display in heaps. In fact, he barely let off the pedal in his clash with his heavy hitter foe.

In what is potentially Superbon's most sizzling performance to date, over the course of five rounds the 32-year-old delivered a championship-level display of striking against the Armenian, who was left scratching his head in all exchanges.

Throughout the course of 15 minutes, Superbon shut down all the attacks of Grigorian and cruised to a unanimous decision victory to successfully defend his World Title for the first time.

Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong: In Superbon's debut outing in The Home of Martial Arts, the Thai sensation bumped heads with fellow Thai striking ace and multiple-time Kickboxing World Champion Sitthichai "The Killer Kid" Sitsongpeenong.

Superbon was keen to make a strong impression against his popular compatriot when he met Sitthichai at ONE: NO SURRENDER in November 2020, and what ensued was nothing short of a war.

The pair went back and forth in an all-time kickboxing classic, taking one another's best offerings, However, it was Superbon who came away with the unanimous decision victory to announce himself on the global stage of martial arts.
