KIUG 2025 Nov 29 Results: Cyclist Meenakshi Rohilla Clinches Four Golds as Guru Nanak Dev University Takes Lead in Medal Tally

Jaipur, November 29: Guru Nanak Dev University's star cyclist Meenakshi Rohilla capped off a spectacular campaign at the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 by securing four gold medals and one silver, reaffirming her status as one of India's most promising young cyclists.

The 23-year-old added the women's Scratch race gold on Saturday (November 29) before finishing second in the 3km Individual Pursuit, where she was edged out by KIIT's Khoirom Rejiya Devi.

KIUG 2025 Nov 29 Cyclist Meenakshi Rohilla Clinches Four Golds

The KIUG 2025, being held across seven cities in Rajasthan, features 4448 athletes from 222 universities competing across 23 medal disciplines. The Games are being conducted under the aegis of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), in collaboration with the Rajasthan State Sports Council, and hosted by Poornima University.

GNDU Takes Top Spot in Medal Tally

GNDU enjoyed a dominant day across cycling and shooting, winning two golds in track cycling and three in Skeet Shooting to climb to the top of the overall standings with: 27 Gold, 9 Silver, and 10 Bronze.

Jain University, with the same number of gold (27) and silver (9) medals but fewer bronze (9), slipped to second place. Lovely Professional University (LPU) remained third with 22 gold medals.

Meenakshi's Winning Run

Meenakshi - who trains at NSNIS Patiala - had earlier swept both road races (Time Trial and 80 km Race) and led GNDU to gold in the Team Pursuit. In the Scratch race final on Saturday, she executed a flawless tactical move, staying behind until the penultimate lap before surging ahead along the inner line to claim gold in 28:06.164s.

Her attempt to secure a fifth gold in the 3km Individual Pursuit fell just short. Despite pushing hard in the closing laps, she clocked 4:14.150, finishing behind KIIT's Rejiya Devi.
"I am a bit disappointed as this is my national record event," Meenakshi told SAI Media. "I tried hard in the last few laps but have been racing continuously for five days, while she was fresher."

Still, her teammates Niya Sebastian and Ritesh Kaushik added to GNDU's gold tally by winning the women's and men's 200m sprint titles.

Skeet Glory for GNDU

At the Jagatpura Shooting Range, GNDU shooters Rituraj Singh Bundela and Shivani Raikwar clinched the Mixed Skeet Team gold, defeating Rabindranath Tagore University 44-40. Rituraj added the individual Skeet gold and contributed to GNDU's victory in the men's team event.
