Kiwi batsman Ryder admitted to London hospital

By Super Admin

London, June 10 (ANI): Hard-hitting New Zealand batsman Jesse Ryder has been admitted to a London hospital for tests as concern over his groin muscle injury escalates, the New Zealand Press Association reports.

Ryder was unavailable to play in New Zealand's one-run loss to South Africa in their final World Twenty20 pool match at Lord's today.

Shortly after the match team manager Dave Currie said Ryder, who was able to play in the tournament opener against Scotland despite the injury, had been taken to a nearby hospital.

The team management would wait for the outcome of those tests before deciding whether Ryder would be replaced for the remainder of the tournament.

Other injury concerns involve captain Daniel Vettori and batsman Ross Taylor. (ANI)
