Tokyo Olympian Varun Thakkar recently graced the Khelo India Youth Games 2023 in Tamil Nadu, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere as he cheered on young wrestlers and witnessed the men's hockey final at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Chennai on January 27.

The 2018 Asian Games bronze medalist, who teamed up with KC Ganapathy for Team India in the Skiff - 49er Sailing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, expressed his enthusiasm for the Khelo India Youth Games.

Thakkar emphasized the event's significance as a crucial stepping stone for budding athletes, providing scouts with opportunities to spot emerging talents at a high level of competition.

During the men's hockey final, where Odisha secured a 4-0 victory against Madhya Pradesh, Thakkar was actively engaged, reacting passionately to every pass and penalty corner.
