CWG: India wins 1st gold in athletics in 52 yrs
New Delhi, Oct 11: India won 30th gold medal and also its first gold in commonwealth Games athletics in 52 years, on Monday, Oct 11. Krishna Poonia won gold in women's discus throw event .
India swept the event with Harwant Kaur and Seema Antil also won the silver and bronze respectively.
Krishan Poonia' s gold, which she won by throwing the discus to 61.51m, was the first gold after Milkha Singh's 440 yard race gold in the 1958 edition.
