Lahore tournament scrapped after visa problems

SINGAPORE, May 21 (Reuters) Asia's soccer chiefs have been forced to postpone the annual President's Cup after teams were unable to obtain Pakistan visas in time.

The tournament, won by Kyrgyzstan's Dordoi-Dynamo in Malaysia last year had been due to take place in Lahore from May 17-27.

The Asian Football Confederation said today it had to scrap those plans with new dates and a venue for the annual eight-team competition to be announced in the near future.

The league champions of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Nepal, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Taiwan and Bhutan take part in the competition.
