The Los Angeles Lakers are facing a challenging period after a significant loss to the Miami Heat. Coach JJ Redick expressed concern over the team's lack of unity following their 134-93 defeat, where Tyler Herro scored 31 points for Miami. This marks the Lakers' sixth loss in eight games, with an average losing margin of 21.8 points.
LeBron James, who scored 29 points on Wednesday, supported Redick's remarks, emphasising that players need to take responsibility. "I agree with everything JJ said," stated James. "It's not on the coaches. It's definitely on us, for sure." The Lakers' recent performance has been historically poor for a team with a winning record.

The Lakers have experienced unprecedented losses in recent games. They have lost by over 25 points four times in their last seven matches, a first for any NBA team with a winning record entering those games. This slump follows their earlier strong performance when they were 10-4.
Coach Redick, who took charge after Darvin Ham left during the offseason, urged his players to accept responsibility for their recent performances. He stated that there needs to be accountability on the court and acknowledged his own role as leader while stressing he cannot manage every aspect physically during games.
"Has to be some ownership," Redick commented. "You can splinter, and it's easy not to want the ownership, particularly when it's embarrassing. I'm embarrassed. We're all embarrassed." He further added that despite owning his part, players must also step up on the court.
The Lakers now hold a record of 12-10 after their recent setbacks. The team's current form is concerning given their promising start earlier this season. Moving forward, both coach and players recognise the need for improvement and cohesion if they are to regain their footing in upcoming matches.
