The 2022 Diamond League champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will continue his quest for another final when he returns to action this week at the Lausanne Diamond League 2024 - Athletissima.
Chopra, who has been nursing a long-standing groin injury, claimed a silver medal in the recently-concluded Paris Olympics, having won a historic gold three years ago in the Tokyo Olympics.

The former Olympic champion Chopra had finished second in the earlier Doha Diamond League 2024 meeting at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar with a best throw of 88.36 meters in men's javelin throw.
The 26-year-old had missed the Paris Diamond League Meeting earlier in July, but will now look to seal a final spot, coming in fresh from an 89.45m throw in Paris Olympics. Chopra needs to finish in the top-six in the Lausanne meeting to qualify for next month's season finale in Brussels.
However, the Indian javelin thrower, who sits in fourth on standings, will face challenge from current leaders Anderson Peters of Grenada, Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch and Germany's Julian Weber.
In Doha, Chopra finished second with a best attempt to 88.36 meters, while Vadlejch finished first with a best throw of 88.38 meters. Weber won the Paris Diamond League meeting with a best throw of 85.91m. Here is all you need to know about the Lausanne meet from entry list to telecast details of the javelin throw event:
