LeBron James Becomes Oldest NBA Player To Record A Triple-Double

LeBron James, at 41 years and 44 days, became the oldest player in NBA history to record a triple-double, guiding the Los Angeles Lakers to a 124-104 win over the Dallas Mavericks. The milestone adds to his long list of career records while highlighting his ongoing impact for the Lakers.

LeBron James extended an NBA benchmark with a record triple-double for the Los Angeles Lakers, while Ousmane Dieng and Donovan Clingan delivered standout displays in other key games that also featured injury absences, disciplinary fallout and rotation changes across the league on 13 February 2026.

James drove the Lakers’ 124-104 home win over the Dallas Mavericks, finishing with 28 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds. The final board came with 2:06 left, triggering a standing ovation as James left the floor having secured the 123rd triple-double of a career that already includes the league scoring record.

LeBron James Sets Oldest Triple-Double Record

The 41-year-old set a new age standard for a triple-double at 41 years and 44 days, surpassing Karl Malone, who recorded one for the Lakers at 40 years and 127 days. James had not logged a triple-double since 1 February 2025 in New York, a night more famous for the trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers for Anthony Davis.

James returned after sitting out against San Antonio and attacked early against Dallas, who were without Doncic because of a mild hamstring strain. James produced 14 points and six assists in the first quarter, then went into half-time with 18 points, eight assists and four rebounds, before reaching double figures in assists during the third quarter.

The NBA scoring leader missed a fourth straight game for the Lakers because of that hamstring issue, leaving James to handle more playmaking duties against the Mavericks. James stayed on court throughout the final period, collecting the key 10th rebound late, as Los Angeles closed out a comfortable 20-point victory at home against Dallas.

Elsewhere, former Oklahoma City forward Ousmane Dieng produced 19 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and four blocks as the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Thunder 110-93. The Thunder had traded Dieng shortly before the deadline, after Dieng helped the Oklahoma City Blue claim the 2024 G-League championship as Finals MVP while also appearing as a Thunder reserve.

Both Milwaukee and Oklahoma City were short-handed during that contest. Bucks head coach Doc Rivers was absent to attend a funeral, leaving assistant Darvin Ham in charge. Giannis Antetokounmpo missed the game because of a right calf strain, while the Thunder were without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, sidelined by an abdominal strain, and Jalen Williams, who has a right hamstring strain.

Role players stepped forward for Milwaukee alongside Dieng. AJ Green scored 17 points, with Bobby Portis contributing 15 points and 12 rebounds. The Thunder announced that Gilgeous-Alexander and Williams will be reassessed after the All-Star break, as Oklahoma City manage key fitness issues while digesting Dieng’s strong outing against the former team.

NBA: Trail Blazers overpower Jazz after disciplinary setback

The Utah Jazz experienced a difficult day both on and off the court before losing 135-119 to the Portland Trail Blazers. Hours earlier, the Jazz confirmed that Jaren Jackson Jr. required knee surgery and the NBA fined the franchise $500,000 for sitting healthy stars, adding organisational pressure before facing Portland.

Jrue Holiday responded with a season-best 31 points, while Donovan Clingan collected 23 points and 18 rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who improved to 27-29 and earned a fourth win in five games. Clingan also registered a career-high seven assists and three blocks, as Holiday added nine rebounds and seven assists in a complete display.

Portland benefited from additional scoring depth as Jerami Grant finished with 18 points and Scoot Henderson totalled 15 during only a fourth appearance of the season. For Utah, now 18-38, Brice Sensabaugh led with 28 points, while Ace Bailey, Kyle Filipowski and Isaiah Collier each added 15 points during the home defeat to the Trail Blazers.
