LeBron James is entering his 22nd NBA season, equalling Vince Carter's record for the most seasons played. The Los Angeles Lakers had a mixed performance last season, reaching the playoffs but exiting in the first round. However, James is optimistic about the upcoming season, especially with the opportunity to play alongside his son Bronny, who joined the Lakers as a second-round draft pick.
James expressed immense joy at playing with Bronny, stating, "It's a lot of excitement, a pure joy, to be able to come to work every day, put in hard work with your son every day and be able to see him continue to grow." He emphasised that they motivate each other and their teammates, making it a special time for their family.

The 39-year-old recently won gold at the Paris Olympics with Team USA, marking their fifth consecutive victory. Playing alongside stars like Steph Curry and Kevin Durant rejuvenated his passion for basketball. James noted that competing with such talent reminded him of his capabilities and reignited his drive to perform at a high level.
"When you're with 11 other unbelievable, great talents... it gives you a lot of joy," James said. He felt invigorated by playing meaningful basketball again and realised he still has much to contribute to his team.
James feels physically and mentally refreshed as he prepares for the new season. He is focused on enjoying the present moment with Bronny on the team. "I feel really good physically. Mentally, I feel really good," he shared. The experience of playing in intense Olympic games has renewed his enthusiasm for the sport.
The upcoming NBA season kicks off on October 22 when the Lakers face off against the Minnesota Timberwolves. James is eager to start this new chapter alongside Bronny and hopes to make significant contributions to his team's success.
