LeBron James Sets New NBA Record in Lakers' Win Over Mavericks

By Tanisha Chhabra

LeBron James made history during the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. In the early minutes of the game, James had five points, one rebound, and one steal, shooting 2-of-3 from the field and 1-of-2 from three-point range. But what stood out was his achievement off the court.

James passed Ray Allen for the most games with a made three-pointer in NBA history. James now holds the record with 1,148 games in which he has made at least one three-pointer.

At 40 years old, LeBron James is still playing at a very high level. This season, he is averaging 24.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game, while shooting 51.8% from the field and 39.5% from three-point range. Despite being in his 22nd season, James continues to be one of the best players in the NBA. The Lakers are currently fourth in the Western Conference with a 34-21 record. They have been in great form lately, winning 8 of their last 10 games.

LeBron has had a remarkable career, and this new milestone adds to his legacy. He has won four NBA championships, four MVP awards, and has been named an NBA All-Star 21 times. He is also the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, having surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 2023. His ability to keep playing at such a high level for so long speaks to his skill and determination.

After the Mavericks game, the Lakers will stay at home to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday. LeBron James continues to make history while leading his team to success. His impact on the game is clear, and even after 22 seasons, he remains one of the NBA’s most dominant players. LeBron’s ability to keep breaking records is a testament to his greatness and longevity in the sport.
