LeBron James' son, Bronny James, suffered a cardiac arrest on Tuesday, as per a statement released by the family. The 18-year-old college basketball player collapsed during a workout session and was rushed to the hospital. The teenager is currently out of danger and in stable condition.
"Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital," according to the family statement. "He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU."

Lebron James' family further requested respect and privacy on the matter while promising further updates whenever available. LeBron and her wife Savannah expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the medical and athletic staff of the University of Southern California (USC) for saving his son's life. Bronny earlier announced he will play for USC in the new college season.
"We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information. LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes," read the statement.
The medical emergency also happened in the premises of the USC as the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical emergency in the 3400 block of South Figueroa Street at 9:26 AM local time on Monday and took him to a hospital, confirmed a department spokesperson. 3400, South Figueroa Street is also the address for the Galen Center (the home arena of USC basketball).
Bronny James' incident is the latest addition to the growing cases of cardiac arrest among teenage sportsperson in the country. The other two high-profile cases include death of Cartier Woods, an 18-year-old cager, following a cardiac arrest during a game earlier this year.
In the first week of the year, American footballer Damar Hamlin, who plays for Buffalo Bills as a safety, collapsed on the field in a moment captured on the camera during their match against Cincinnati Bengals.
Amomg the most infamous onfield deaths in the USA, 23-year-old NBA player Hank Gathers, who played for Loyola Marymount, collapsed and died during a match in Los Angeles in 1990.
