LeBron James Sets Career Record With Four Consecutive Triple-Doubles In Lakers' Win Over Spurs

LeBron James achieves a career-best with four consecutive triple-doubles, guiding the Los Angeles Lakers to a 120-115 victory against the San Antonio Spurs. He finished with 15 points, 16 rebounds, and 12 assists, marking his 117th triple-double in the NBA.

LeBron James achieved a remarkable milestone by securing his fourth consecutive triple-double, marking the best streak of his career. This performance helped the Los Angeles Lakers secure a 120-115 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. The Lakers, who won the first NBA in-season tournament last year, started their title defence with this group-stage win against Victor Wembanyama and his team.

James contributed significantly to the Lakers' win by scoring their last four points, ending the game with 15 points, 16 rebounds, and 12 assists. This achievement marked his 117th career triple-double, placing him fifth on the all-time list. Notably, this was the first time James recorded four consecutive triple-doubles, equalling the Lakers' franchise record previously set by Russell Westbrook and Magic Johnson.

Reflecting on his performance, James expressed satisfaction with his ability to impact games even when not in offensive rhythm. "The best thing about my game is I can have no rhythm offensively and still have an impact on the game," he stated after the match. "I was able to do that tonight."

In addition to his personal achievements, James highlighted the importance of teamwork in reaching such milestones. He acknowledged that assists are only possible when teammates successfully convert shots. "Those assists only happen when guys are making shots," he said. He also emphasised his role in supporting Anthony Davis and others defensively and on rebounds.

James also took pride in achieving this feat during his 22nd season. "Probably that I did it in Season 22," he remarked about what made him most proud of his accomplishment. He acknowledged that maintaining energy and effort at this stage of his career requires significant dedication.

Anthony Davis played a crucial role for the Lakers by leading with 40 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Meanwhile, Victor Wembanyama stood out for San Antonio with a team-high of 28 points, along with 14 rebounds and five assists.

This victory not only showcased individual brilliance but also highlighted effective teamwork within the Lakers squad as they continue their campaign in defending their title.
