Charles Leclerc secured a victory for Ferrari at the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, defeating McLaren's Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris at Monza. Leclerc started from fourth but quickly moved up, battling the McLarens after Mercedes' George Russell locked up on the opening lap. The Monegasque driver thrilled home fans by overtaking Norris at the second chicane.
Leclerc's triumph marks his second win at the Italian Grand Prix, having previously won in 2019. His one-stop strategy proved effective as he held off a late push from Piastri to win by 2.6 seconds. Team-mate Carlos Sainz finished fourth, fending off future Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton.

Leclerc's win was Ferrari's 20th at the Italian Grand Prix, making them only the second team to achieve such a milestone at a single venue in Formula One. The Scuderia had previously reached this feat in Germany with 21 victories. This landmark triumph was celebrated enthusiastically by the Tifosi.
Norris entered the race as favourite after qualifying fastest but was overtaken by Piastri on the opening lap. Despite this setback, Norris later reclaimed the lead from Leclerc, giving McLaren hope of a one-two finish. However, both McLaren drivers pitted for a second time, allowing Leclerc to maintain his lead.
Leclerc now holds a 20-point lead over Piastri in the drivers' standings and sits third behind title contenders Verstappen and Norris. Verstappen experienced disappointment as his lead in the standings was reduced to 62 points after finishing sixth.
The top ten finishers were: Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Oscar Piastri (McLaren), Lando Norris (McLaren), Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Max Verstappen (Red Bull), George Russell (Mercedes), Sergio Perez (Red Bull), Alex Albon (Williams), and Kevin Magnussen (Haas).
