Let me perform and speak about it: Kaif
Chennai, July 7 (UNI) India A captain, Mohammed Kaif today said he was keen on performing rather than talking about the tour Kenya and Zimbabwe later this month end.
Talking to newspersons at the MRF Pace Foundation here, the 26 year-old batsman said, This is not the first time I'm leading the team. I will be looking forward to some good performance and enjoy the game to the maximum.'' Kaif, however, politely refused to answer further questions from reporters saying let me come up with some good knocks, then I will speak to you.'' Kaif landed here yesterday for practicing on the bouncy pitches at the Foundation.
Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan, who was also named in the India A squad, also spoke about his keenness to perform well.
Pankaj Singh, among the eight wards selected for training at the MRF Pace Foundation and a right arm medium pacer, said he was ''pleasantly surprised'' by his selection to the squad.
This is only the first step for me. I will try to build on this with good performances,'' the 22-year-old from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh added.
He said he was working on his action and fitness since nearly two months. Pankaj has represented Rajasthan in Ranji Trophy matches. He had also played in Deodhar Trophy and represented Rajasthan President's XI team.
