Lok Satta lauds Abhinav on winning gold in Beijing Olympics

Hyderabad, Aug 11 (UNI) Lok Satta Party President Jayaprakash Narayan today lauded Abhinav Bindra on winning India's first ever individual Olympics Gold Medal in the Shooting event at Beijing.

In a statement here, he said, ''the entire nation is proud of Abhinav's achievement and the nation's prowess in the world of sports was regarded as a testimony to its economic strength and global stature. If we create the right kind of climate, the younger generation will excel.'' Jayaprakash urged the Central and State Governments to utilise the current accomplishment in the Beijing Olympics as a trailblazer for the 2020 Olympics.

''India should aim high and strive to be among the top five in winning the tally of medals. For a country with a population of a billion plus and recording scorching economic growth, it is a mission possible,'' he added.
