Marina Mabrey Sets WNBA Record With Nine 3-Pointers As Tempo Rally Past Sun
Marina Mabrey delivered a historic shooting display for the expansion Toronto Tempo, while the Minnesota Lynx and Washington Mystics also claimed key WNBA victories that altered streaks and underlined shifting momentum across the league on June 20, 2026.
Mabrey set a personal scoring best with 37 points and matched the WNBA single-game record with nine 3-pointers, carrying Toronto to a 101-97 win over the Connecticut Sun after the Tempo trailed by 16 during the second half.

The guard was almost flawless from deep, making 9 of 12 attempts from beyond the arc, while also adding four rebounds and four assists. Mabrey poured in 21 points in the fourth quarter alone as Toronto overturned Connecticut’s advantage and controlled the closing minutes.
Support came from Temi Fagbenle, who missed only one shot, going 8 of 9 from the field for 19 points and collecting nine rebounds. Maria Conde offered a major lift from the bench with 19 points and six rebounds, strengthening the Tempo rotation at both ends.
Connecticut built a 50-37 cushion by halftime and still held control early in the third quarter. Toronto then outscored the Sun 64-47 after the break, ending a three-game losing run, while Connecticut’s slide extended to seven defeats despite 18 bench points from Kennedy Burke.
The WNBA-leading Minnesota Lynx improved to 13-3 by halting the Golden State Valkyries’ four-game winning run with an 81-75 success. Nia Coffey led Minnesota with 22 points, and Courtney Williams added 21 points, a season-high 12 rebounds and five assists.
Golden State, now 10-6, stayed close behind a career-best 23 points from Cecilia Zandalasini and 15 points plus eight rebounds from Gabby Williams. However, after a Valkyries timeout, Zandalasini’s late 3-pointer was answered as Olivia Miles hit two free throws, then blocked another 3-point attempt.
WNBA: Mystics end New York Liberty streak
Kiki Iriafen returned from an ankle injury and scored 20 points for the Washington Mystics, including a decisive layup with 27 seconds left, sealing an 86-83 victory over the New York Liberty and halting New York’s eight-game winning streak.
With the score level at 83, Iriafen was found under the basket by Sonia Citron for the go-ahead basket, before Iriafen split two free throws with two seconds remaining. New York, now 11-5, missed two late 3-point chances through Sabrina Ionescu and Satou Sabally, while Washington, now 7-7, ended a 10-game regular-season losing stretch against the Liberty dating back to the 2023 finale.
