A UK-based woman of Indian descent has taken the internet by storm with her amazing fusion attire to run a marathon event.
Madhusmita Jena, who originally is from Odisha, was pictured running a marathon in the city of Manchester recently. But the striking feature was that she was covered with a Sambalpuri saree and orange sneakers.

Jena covered the 42-km long marathon wearing the saree and her feat has gone viral on social media and over the internet.
"Madhusmita Jena, an Indian living in Manchester, UK, comfortably runs the Manchester marathon 2023 in a lovely Sambalpuri Saree. While proudly showcasing her Indian heritage, she also presents an inviting perspective on the quintessential #Indian attire," the Friends of India Society International UK diaspora organisation tweeted.
People have been awestruck by Madhusmita, who completed the marathon in 4 hours and 50 minutes, wearing the saree during the entire run. The 41-year-old woman has received much applause but there have been people who have questioned the practicality of her outfit.
She has previously taken part in many other marathon events and has completed those. It is to be seen whether the Indian takes part in her next events in a similar kind of outfit or she goes back to the traditional track and suit style.
She confirmed that her choice of garment in Manchester was to showcase the Indian culture and inspire others to take part in running. And so far it has made a significant impact.
