The Formula One calendar for the 2026 championship has been unveiled, featuring a new addition: the Madrid Grand Prix. This race will join the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, making it one of two races in Spain. The schedule remains at 24 races, as the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, Italy, has been removed. The season will commence in Australia from March 6-8 and conclude in Abu Dhabi from December 4-6.
Both Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix are set for April due to Ramadan occurring in February and March. The calendar now boasts an improved geographical sequence. The Canadian Grand Prix follows Miami's race, while all European races occur consecutively. This European leg begins with Monaco on June 5-7 and wraps up with Madrid on September 11-13.

Stefano Domenicali, F1 President and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about this new era for Formula One. He stated: "2026 will be a new era for Formula 1 where we will witness a brand-new set of regulations for our sport, the cars and the engines that will be powered by 100% sustainable fuel." He also welcomed Madrid to the calendar and noted the entry of major automotive brands like Audi, Cadillac, and Ford.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem highlighted that next year's championship signifies a pivotal moment for Formula One. He remarked: "Next year's FIA Formula One World Championship marks a significant new chapter for our sport." With new teams and manufacturers joining, this season promises innovation and competition across five continents.
