Mah governor congratulates Vishwanathan Anand

Mumbai, Oct 1 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna has congratulated Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand for winning the prestigious World Chess Championships, held in Mexico city.

In a congratulatory message to Anand, Mr Krishna said, ''The nation is proud of you for your rare distinction of winning the World Chess Championships title for the second time. Only this March you were awarded the World No 1 ranking by FIDE''.

''The Championships win makes you the undisputed monarch of chess.

Kindly accept my heartiest congratulations on this outstanding achievement. I also convey my greetings to your mother, who was your first guru in chess. I am sure, upcoming chess-players in the country and other sportspersons in India will feel enthused by your achievement'', Mr Krishna added.
