Early Life and Education

Chauhan completed her education at Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi. Her introduction to shooting began as a recreational activity alongside her grandfather Ganpat Singh, her father Pradeep Singh, and her brother Daksheshwar Singh at their family's private shooting range in Siana. In 2023, she married hotelier Adhiraj Singh.

Shooting Career

Chauhan became the first Indian woman to win an individual medal in women's skeet at an international competition. She clinched the bronze medal on Day 5 of the 7th Asian Championship Shotgun held in Astana, Kazakhstan. At this event, India achieved a total of two gold medals, one silver, and three bronze medals.

Chauhan also played a pivotal role in securing the team silver alongside her teammates Rashmi Rathore and Saniya Shaikh. The trio of Indian women scored a total of 190, just missing out on gold to China who finished with a score of 195. Kazakhstan took home the bronze with a score of 185.

Chauhan achieved a top-20 finish at the ISSF World Cup in Mexico in 2013, followed by a top-ten placement at the Asian Championship in 2016. However, it was her bronze medal at the 2017 Asian Championships that marked her emergence as a significant talent on the national stage.

She subsequently became a member of the Indian teams competing in various World Cups and World Championships and this year she secured a bronze medal at the Asian Championships in Kuwait where Raiza Dhillon earned India’s first skeet quota for the Paris Games.

Despite the pressure of needing to secure a quota, Chauhan maintained her composure and relied on the extensive training she had undergone with Italian coach Riccardo Filipelli in Aritzo, a training ground also frequented by Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Diana Bocosi and 2022 World Cup Final silver medallist Martina Bartolomei.
