Bangalore, Jan 4 (UNI) Noted industrialist and 'Turf Baron' M A M Ramaswamy was today felicitated by the racing fraternity at the race course here for achieving the feat by winning the 500th classic race in Chennai recently.
The entire racing industry from horse owners, trainers, jockeys, racing Journalists and stable boys honoured Mr Ramaswamy, who achieved the record feat when his ward 'Classic Sky' won the event in Chennai on December 22.
Thanking his supporters and other race enthusiasts for the felicitation, Mr Ramaswamy said ''horse racing is a passion to me and it has kept me going even after four decades. I have received support from different quarters while my trainers and jockeys have made me proud. Luck has also favoured me, otherwise it would have been difficult to achieve this feat.'' Karnataka Race Horse Owners Association president Ashok Raghavan and Trainers association president B Puttanna showered encomium and said Mr Ramaswamy was responsible for keeping the Indian Horse racing flag high.
