Mangaonkar to meet Malaysian top seed in semis of squash meet

Mumbai, Feb 10 (PTI) Mahesh Mangaonkar, one of themost promising juniors on the Indian circuit, today subdued afighting Sandeep Jangra to set up a semi-final clash withmen''s top seed Kamran Khan of Malaysia in the Rs 11 lakh prizemoney ISP-Minute Maid Squash Carnival.

Fourth seed Mangaonkar, a former British under-15champion, put it across fifth seed Jangra 13-11 8-11 11-8 11-8in a hard-fought quarterfinal tie in the tournament, jointlyhosted by Khar and Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhanas here.

Malaysia''s Kamran was surprisingly stretched by NareshKumar in another quarterfinal, winning 11-2 12-10 11-9.

The other semi-final wil see second seed MarwanShorbagy of Egypt taking on sixth seed Elvin Keo of Malaysia.

While Shorbagy was clinical in his 11-6 11-4 11-7demolition of Vikas Jangra, Keo had to fight hard to see offIndian third seed Gaurav Nandrajog 11-7 11-9 1-11 14-12. More)PTI SSR RSY AH
