Manipur, Assam, Haryana, Chandigarh qualify for semi-final

Margao, Nov 14 (UNI) Reigning champions Manipur, Chandigarh, Ass am and Haryana today qualified for semi-finals in their respective group in the football under-19 girls of the 53rd National School Games 2007-08 underway at Nehru stadium Fatorda in South Goa.

In group A, Manipur topped the table with 12 points. It was followed by Assam with 9 points, Chandigardh and Haryana (7) each in the group D, B and C respectively.

In the semi-finals on November 16, Chandigarh will meet Assam in the morning, while Manipur will take on Haryana in the evening.

On the last day of the league matches today, Manipur outplayed Jammu and Kashmir 7-0, Haryana blanked Uttar Pradesh 5-0, Assam edged out Goa 1-0, while the match between Chandigarh and Madhya Pradesh ended in a goalless draw.
