Manipur eves beat Jharkhand 7-0

Puducherry, Jan 13 (UNI) Defending champions Manipur brightened their chances to enter the semi-finals by defeating Jharkhand 7-0 to bag full points in the fifth Junior National Girls Football Tournament here.

Four goals, including a hat-trick by Parameswari Devi was the highlight of the match. Parameshwari, who opened the account in the 19th minute scored in the 29th and the 31st minutes to register the hat-trick and scored her fourth goal in the 46th minute.

Bembemdevi's scored the goal in the 35th and the 61st minutes, and Naobi Chenu in the 57th minute. Manipur had earlier outplayed Chattisgarh.

In another match, West Bengal prevailed over Chattisgarh by a solitary goal, scored by Aduri in the 60th minute.
