Manpreet Kaur qualify for World Youth final

New Delhi, July 13: Inspired by Poovamma's performance in 400m, Manpreet Kaur of India heaved 4 kg shot put to 13.56 m to became the first Indian girl athlete in field event to qualify for the final of the IAAF World Youth Athletics Championship currently progressing at Ostrava in Czech Republic.

Manpreet, World youth top 10 of 2007 tossed the first throw to 12.96m, below her regular opening series but in the second attempt Manpreet threw 13.56m, sufficient to make it to the final.
