Bathinda, Jan 28 (UNI) Mansa and Amritsar boys and girls athletes dominated as they secured 15 and 8 points, respectively, on the second day of the three-day first Punjab State Panchayat Games being conducted by the state Sports Department at the Sports Stadium here today.
Manjot Singh of Tamkot village (Mansa) won gold in shot put with a throw of 11.39 metres while Khushwinder Singh of Burjhari village (Mansa) measured 5.67 metres to bag first position in long jump.
Sneh Inder Sharma of Bhikhi village (Mansa) sprinted to glory by winning 200 metres in 25.15 seconds.
Ketli of Majitha village (Amtritsar) claimed gold medal as she released the ball to a distance of 9.10 metres. The silver medal went to Harmandeep Kaur of Tarsika village (Amtritsar) with 9.02 metres.
In the boys hockey final to be held tomorrow, Shaven village of Hoshiarpur will meet Jarkhar of Ludhiana. In the semi-finals Shaven ousted Khurd Sahib of Tarn Taran by 3-1 and Jarkhar of Ludhiana beat Phool Khurd of Ropar by 2-1 UNI XC PS CS VC2051
