Manu Bhaker’s Chic Reply to Detractors: ‘Normal is Boring’

They say "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", and it seems Indian Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker is living this adage to the fullest!

Recently, she traded her typical shooting attire for the glitzy world of haute couture at the Lakme Fashion Week, strutting her stuff like she was born to be on the catwalk. As she strutted down the runway, one couldn't help but wonder, is there anything this dynamic youngster can't do?

Olympics double medallist Shooter Manu Bhaker took the ramp during the Lakme Fashion Week

Fresh off her impressive bronze medal wins at the 2024 Paris Olympics, this 22-year-old dynamo is proving that she can not only shoot for gold but can strut her stuff on the runway, too! Recently, Manu took a delightful detour from the shooting lanes to the vibrant world of fashion during Lakmé Fashion Week.

In her latest video upload, she confidently sashayed down the ramp, making it clear that she's not just about hitting targets; she's also here to hit the runway! With a cheeky caption that reads, "From the shooting lanes to fashion ramp walk, it's just a break for me. I loved it. Normal is boring," Manu is showing us all that she's a true Renaissance woman.

Medals and Models

Since becoming a household name, Manu has proven she's not just a sharpshooter but also a style icon. Her Olympic journey includes making history by clinching an individual bronze in the 10m Air Pistol event, where she became the first woman wrestler to snag an Olympic medal in shooting.

And if that wasn't enough, she also grabbed another bronze in the mixed 10m Air Pistol event alongside Sarabjot Singh. But it seems like the fashion world has snagged her attention, even if just for a moment.

During a recent chat with the media, Manu shared her plans for the future, assuring fans that she's not leaving the sport behind.

"I will be back for the training in November and to the match maybe by next year. I will follow all the action thoroughly," she said (via ANI News), adding a wink to her fellow competitors, "But my eyes will be on the 10 metres event, the 25 metres event, and the pistol events since I am a pistol shooter."

It's not all work and no play for our superstar, though. Manu candidly revealed that her coach had recommended taking a three-month break due to some pesky injuries from the pistol recoil. Sometimes you just need to recharge, and what better way than to turn heads on the runway?

So here's to Manu Bhaker, a true trailblazer in more ways than one! Whether she's taking aim at targets or strutting down the catwalk, she's living proof that normal is definitely boring. With her sights set on the future, we can't wait to see what this multi-talented star will do next!
