ManU midfielder's home burgled

By Super Admin

London, Feb 24: Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher's house was burgled when he was in Italy for a Champions League match, and is one of several players to have been burgled while away from home with their clubs.

The Scotland midfielder lives at the house with his girlfriend and two sons, although it is not known if they were home at the time of the raid.

The gang broke into Fletcher's family home in up-market Bowdon, Greater Manchester, on Monday, Feb 23 night.

They threatened a woman at the house then rampaged through the property, say police. It is not yet known if she was the woman threatened or if weapons were used. There have been no reports of injuries, Sky News reported.

Fletcher is the latest in a series of wealthy Premier League stars to have their homes raided while they are playing away.

Liverpool and England midfielder Steven Gerrard is also a burglary victim.

Other Liverpool players including Dirk Kuyt, Pepe Reina, and Peter Crouch have also had their homes broken into.
