Maratha Warriors' Ajmer suspended for one match
Chandigarh, February 12 (UNI) Despite victory against holders Bangalore Lions, Maratha Warriors suffered a setback today as their defender Ajmer Singh was suspended for one match for playing rough game deliberately in the Premier Hockey League here today.
Ajmer was show a green card in the 29th minute and later a yellow card in the 57th minute.
International umpire Satinder Sharma had reported to the TD that Ajmer resorted to 'verbal abuse''. He had received two cards, he would miss the match against Sher-E-Jalandhar on February 15.
Ajmer became the first player to be punished in the PHL in Chandigarh. Earlier, in Chennai, Sharanjit Singh of Hyderabad Sultans and Raghunath of Chennai Veerans were suspended for one match each. Both were involved in deliberate rough play.
