Mark Zuckerberg Eyes Debut In Either ONE Championship or UFC, ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong Extends Invitation

By Mike Joseph

Social media mogul Mark Zuckerberg announced on Sunday, 13 August, that he has his eyes set on his mixed martial arts debut, but the billionaire said it'll no longer come against fellow tech titan Elon Musk.

The Facebook founder took to Meta's newest social media app, Threads, to share the latest developments on his training. As he commits to taking his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills to the next level, Zuckerberg feels Musk isn't serious about stepping into battle.

Zuckerberg's talents continue to prosper alongside the likes of UFC Middleweight World Champion Israel Adesanya and ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion Mikey Musumeci.

Receiving tutelage from these fighting standouts shows Zuckerberg is serious about competing at the highest level. And he wants his inaugural MMA outing to take place in one of the world's two largest combat sports organizations in ONE Championship and the UFC.

"If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. I'm going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously," 'Zuck' posted on Threads.

"Not holding my breath for Elon, but I'll share details on my next fight when I'm ready. When I compete, I want to do it in a way that puts a spotlight on the elite athletes at the top of the game. You do that by working with professional orgs like the UFC or ONE to pull this off well and create a great card."

'Let's Do It, Mark!' - Chatri Sityodtong Sends Open Invitation To Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg is no stranger to ONE. The tech billionaire crossed paths with ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong online earlier this year, and the two eventually trained together in the Meta founder's home this past April.

After Zuckerberg expressed interest in competing inside ONE's famous circular proving ground, Sityodtong opened the door to a cross-promotion event with the UFC. And the ONE Chairman and CEO has even offered to battle UFC President Dana White in the co-main event.

"Let's do it, Mark! Or we could do a co-promotion to make it truly the biggest fighting event in history," Sityodtong responded on social media. "My vote would be ONE vs UFC as main card, me vs Dana White as co-main, and you vs Elon as main event."
