Mauresmo out for a month with appendicitis
PARIS, Mar 19 (Reuters) Former world number one Amelie Mauresmo will be out of action for a month because of appendicitis, a statement on her Web site (www.ameliemauresmo.fr) said.
Mauresmo underwent surgery to remove her appendix yesterday and should be back in action for the European claycourt season, the statement read.
The Frenchwoman had delayed her departure, scheduled for Saturday, for the Miami tournament starting on Monday, because she was suffering from stomach pain. She underwent medical checks which showed she needed surgery.
