Mayawati announces international-level stadium in UP capital

Kanpur, Nov 11 (UNI) No sooner than the 'Men in Blue' registered a resounding victory in the much awaited third Indo-Pak ODI face-off at Green Park here, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati announced to set up an international-level stadium in the state capital and develop Noida as a 'Sports City' soon.

Ms Mayawati, who was present as a chief guest, told newspersons, ''Besides the K D Singh Babu stadium, another international-level stadium would be developed in Lucknow.'' ''Noida, would also be provided with hi-tech sports facilities and will be developed as a 'Sports City,' she informed.

Noting the contributions of Team India players in the recently concluded T-20 World Cup, the CM honoured fast bowler R P Singh and leg spinner Piyush Chawala with the 'Manyawar Kashiram Khel Puraskar.'' Cabinet minister Satish Chandra Mishra and cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh were also present during the prize ceremony.
