Mayweather Vs McGregor is a 'joke', says Jose Aldo

Jose Aldo calls the McGregor versus Mayweather fight 'a joke', claiming its all about the money and rules out fellow UFC fighter's chances in the match.

Bengaluru, August 8: UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor is a huge under dog against the former multi-time champion Floyd Mayweather when the two meet in a boxing match on August 26 in Las Vegas.

UFC fighter, Jose Aldo has also voiced his opinion and added himself to the list of doubters. McGregor defeated Aldo with a thirteen seconds first round knock out in UFC 194 to claim the UFC featherweight title in December of 2015.

However, Aldo doesn't think McGregor will have the same success in the squared circle that he had in the octagon.

"There is no way McGregor can defeat Mayweather. Mayweather has done this his entire life and it's a different sport," Aldo told the 'Los Angeles Times'.

Adding fuel to the fire, Aldo also claimed McGregor will retire following his bout with the 49-0 Mayweather, as he's simply using the megafight as a pay day.

"After Mayweather, when he gets lots of millions of dollars, he'll probably never fight again... It's a joke," Aldo said.

"He's just looking for the money."

This will be the first boxing match for McGregor, who has taken the UFC by storm, but this time under boxing rules and a twelve rounds bout, it will be different playing field altogether for the Irishman.

Will the 'Notorious' McGregor stun the non-believers by delivering the knock out blow to the 'Money' Mayweather?

We will soon know the answer as the blockbuster fight is less than three weeks away. The bout takes place in the Showtime PPV main event and will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Aldo looks bitter about the money involved in the most anticipated fight in combat sports history beacause McGregor will leave the arena a much wealthier man than when he walked in despite either result of a win or a loss.

McGregor is awaited by the UFC and the lightweight division as the championship was last defended when the Irishman defeated Eddie Alvarez to win the title in November last year.
