Mazzulla Places Trust In Brown To Navigate Knee Injury As Celtics Outclass Spurs

Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla trusts Jaylen Brown and the medical team to manage his knee injury. The Celtics secured their eighth straight win against the San Antonio Spurs, with Brown contributing despite ongoing recovery.

Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla is relying on Jaylen Brown and the medical staff to manage his knee injury. Brown, who recently played for the third time since returning from this issue, contributed 14 points and four assists in a 121-111 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Despite his efforts, he admitted that his knee has not completely healed yet.

Mazzulla expressed confidence in Brown's recovery process after the game against the Spurs. "You trust him, you trust the sports science team, you trust the trainers," he stated. "You trust him taking care of the body, and he's doing everything he can to be available and he takes pride in that." The Celtics have maintained their winning streak, securing eight consecutive victories.

Celtics Coach Mazzulla Trusts Brown's Recovery

The Celtics are currently second in the Eastern Conference as they approach play-off time. When asked about maintaining focus, Mazzulla credited his players' competitive nature. "It's the guys," he said. "They're competitive. They're competitive guys that want to win." This mindset has been crucial in their recent success.

Jayson Tatum delivered an outstanding performance with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists against the Spurs. He was one of seven players who scored double digits in that game. Tatum had also been recovering from an ankle issue and described his downtime as "bored" but acknowledged it was painful.

The Celtics have achieved a remarkable 13-1 record in March and remain undefeated on their current road trip with a 5-0 record. Reflecting on these achievements, Tatum mentioned their commitment to following game plans and challenging themselves each night. "[We're] following the gameplan and whatever we're trying to attack or achieve that night," he noted.

The team's ability to stay focused and execute strategies effectively has been key to their success this season. As they continue their journey towards the playoffs, maintaining this level of performance will be essential for achieving their goals.
