Rory McIlroy is optimistic about finishing 2024 on a positive note after sharing the lead at the DP World Tour Championship with one round left. He scored a four-under 68 in his third round at Jumeirah Golf Estates, tying with Antoine Rozner and Rasmus Hojgaard at 12-under for the tournament. Despite a challenging year, McIlroy is poised to win the Race to Dubai title and aims for his third victory at this event.
McIlroy reflected on his goals, saying, "As I said at the start of the week, my goal tomorrow is to be on that 18th green with two trophies instead of one," he told Sky Sports after his third round. "I was with one of the Hojgaard brothers on the 18th last year and hopefully I'm not with the other one tomorrow! If I was to do it tomorrow, I'd walk away from this year with four worldwide wins, which is still pretty good. I'm excited about tomorrow. It's an opportunity to end the year on a really good note. I'm going to go out there and try to get it done."

Rasmus Hojgaard, who made six birdies in seven holes to join the leaders, is eager for a repeat performance on Sunday. "I obviously hit it very close on the front nine, which was a massive confidence boost," he shared with Sky Sports. He plans to maintain focus by playing each hole individually without worrying about future challenges.
The Northern Irishman has had an up-and-down year, notably missing crucial putts at June's US Open that cost him his first major title in ten years. However, he remains determined to finish strong by securing another win this season.
Hojgaard's approach involves staying calm and focusing on achieving the best score possible by taking each hole as it comes.
As McIlroy looks forward to potentially ending his year with four global victories, he remains focused on making Sunday count by aiming for success in both individual and overall standings at this prestigious golf event in Dubai.
