Liuzzi Predicts McLaren Will Secure Formula One Titles In 2025 With Strong Driver Pairing

Vitantonio Liuzzi has commended McLaren's recent advancements, asserting they merit their current Formula One supremacy. In 2025, McLaren leads the constructors' standings by 238 points over Ferrari. They aim to retain their title after ending Red Bull's dominance last year, marking the longest gap between championships in F1 history.

Oscar Piastri is at the forefront of the drivers' standings with 234 points, closely followed by Lando Norris with 226 points. Max Verstappen holds third place with 165 points. Last season, Norris challenged Verstappen but finished 63 points behind him. This year, Norris and Piastri are both strong contenders for the title.

The rivalry between Norris and Piastri is intense, with each securing ten podium finishes so far. Piastri has claimed victory in five grands prix, while Norris has won four. Liuzzi credits Andrea Stella and the entire team for their success. "It is never about a single person," he noted, highlighting their collective effort. He also acknowledged that while both drivers are fast and young, they still make mistakes that could impact their championship chances.

Despite these challenges, McLaren's superior car gives them an edge in the title race. Liuzzi mentioned that if Red Bull had a more competitive car, defeating Verstappen would be tougher. However, as it stands, McLaren remains a formidable force on the grid.
