Lando Norris expressed his delight as McLaren secured the front row in qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Norris clinched pole position, finishing 0.208 seconds ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri. This result gives McLaren, who lead the constructors' championship by 21 points, a strong chance at their first title since 1998. "It was a perfect, perfect day for us," said Norris.
Despite McLaren's success, Ferrari remains a significant threat in the championship race. Carlos Sainz, racing for Ferrari one last time before moving to Williams, qualified third. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc will start from the back after initially qualifying 13th but receiving a penalty for exceeding track limits and another grid penalty.

Sainz is determined to make the most of his final race with Ferrari. "I'm going to give it everything," he stated. "Already today I was pushing in qualifying like never before because I wanted pole position and to give myself a good chance for tomorrow as it might be my last battle for a win or a podium for a while."
Norris remains focused on defeating Ferrari in style. "We have got to beat Ferrari. That's the aim, but we've got to do it in style," he said. He emphasized that McLaren knows what they need to do and are committed to staying focused and giving their all in the race.
Elsewhere on the grid, Lewis Hamilton will begin his last race with Mercedes from 16th position. Initially qualifying 18th, he moved up due to penalties given to Leclerc and Alex Albon. Hamilton's Q1 lap was disrupted when his car hit a bollard dislodged by Kevin Magnussen's Haas.
"You couldn't make it up," Hamilton remarked about his unfortunate incident during qualifying. Despite these challenges, Hamilton remains determined as he prepares for his final outing with Mercedes.
The stage is set for an exciting race as McLaren aims for victory while Ferrari poses a formidable challenge. With drivers like Norris and Sainz pushing hard, fans can expect an intense battle on track.
