Md Sporting to face Sporting Club de Goa in the NFL tomorrow
Margao, Mar 2 (UNI) Bouyed by their win against JCT in the last match, Sporting Club de Goa will be looking for yet another victory home advantage, when they lock horns against Kolkata's Mohammedan sporting in the seventh round of the 11th edition of ONGC sponsored National Football League Championship match to be played at Nehru stadium Fatorda here tomorrow.
The home team presently placed sixth, with seven points from 2 wins, a draw and three defeats still did not live up to their owesome reputation in the high profile league and needs to tone up their game to catch up the table toppers, Mahindra united, East Bengal and Dempo.
While Mohammedan Sporting, placed in a precarious position, at the bottom with 5 points from a win, two draws and three defeats, are indesperate need of points to bounce back into the race, and for that, they would have to make special vigilance arrangement for Nigerian Dudu Omaghbhemi, the ace striker of sporting club de Goa.
''My main concern is the injury to the key regular players Dudu Omaghbhemi, Nicolaus Borgues, Nichoav Rodrigues, Nigerian defender Bello Rasaq who all are nursing injuries,'' sporting club de Goa's peter vaz said.
He said,''we have quality players on the bench and will have to depend heavily on Joseph Pereira, Wilton Gomes, Harbhajot Kabra in the middle and Dudu, Joe Rodrigues or Pio Nicolas Nath in the front to deliver the goods.'' Mohammedan Sporting's new coach Biswajit Bhattacharya, who replaced Subahsh Bhowmick few days back, said every match is crucial for us in the league. We respect the Goan club as they will enjoy total home support but his team will make all out efforts to overpower them, the coach added.
Commenting on the injury woes of his team, the coach said his team was also plagued with injuries and their regular players Noel Wilson, Debjit Ghosh, Jatin Bhist and Kulothogan are unavailable for the tie in Goa, as the players are nursing injuries and hope foreign nplayers like Preston, Ndem and Erick perform well tomorrow along with Bijen Singh, Habibur Rehman Mondal and Santa Singh.
