Miami Heat's Bam Adebayo has emphasised the team's focus on current players following Jimmy Butler's suspension. The six-time All-Star was suspended for seven games due to detrimental conduct, and Miami is open to trade offers for him. This decision followed Butler's admission of losing passion after a loss to the Indiana Pacers, where he didn't play in the fourth quarter.
Butler will miss the game against the Utah Jazz as part of his suspension, which ends after a six-game road trip on January 15. He hasn't commented since the suspension announcement. However, after the Pacers' defeat, Butler expressed doubts about enjoying playing for Miami again, leaving Adebayo frustrated by the situation.

Adebayo shared his thoughts after a team practice, stating, "I feel like he came to work, he tried to perform, and it just didn't go his way." He added that Butler didn't want to be sidelined but acknowledged the need to adapt their system around all players. "After what happened [on Friday], we're focused on who's with us now," Adebayo said.
In his time with Miami, Butler averaged 21.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.7 assists over 380 games including playoffs. The Heat have won only 49.2% of their games without him compared to 59.7% with him playing. Speculation suggests Butler's dissatisfaction may stem from Miami not offering him a two-year extension worth $113 million last summer.
Adebayo expressed disappointment over the conflict between Butler and management but stressed that it's not the team's concern. "It's disappointing when you see the organization and a player going head-to-head like that," Adebayo remarked. "But the rest of us got to figure out how to win games."
The situation between Butler and Miami remains unresolved as both parties navigate this challenging period. The team must continue focusing on their performance while management addresses trade possibilities for Butler.
