Washington, August 31 : After taking the world by storm with his Olympic performance, Michael Phelps' romantic life is making headlines - but the star swimmer prefers to stay mum on the whole issue.

While at Walt Disney World's America's Homecoming Parade in Orlando on Friday, when asked how it feels after the Olympic glory, Phelps said: "It feels pretty cool."

"I don't feel any different. I'm just having fun with this," People quoted him, as saying.

When asked about his personal life, the 23-year-old said: "I never said I have a girlfriend, and I never said I don't have a girlfriend. My public and private life are separate. I keep my private life to myself."

Rumours are abuzz that Michael is dating Nicole Johnson, a former Miss California USA runner up.

He added as referring to Nicole: "We're good friends."
