Min Woo Lee secured his first PGA Tour victory at the Houston Open, narrowly defeating Scottie Scheffler. Lee began the final round with a four-shot lead, which briefly extended to five strokes at Memorial Park Golf Course. Despite Scheffler's strong back-nine performance, Lee maintained his composure to win by one shot.
Lee's performance included three birdies in a five-hole stretch, but a bogey on the 16th hole reduced his lead to just one. He managed to par the last two holes, finishing with a three-under 67 for the round. Reflecting on his win, Lee said, "To be honest, I played unbelievable up until that bogey [16th]. It's really hard. Obviously, Scottie is a wonderful golfer, and he keeps you on your toes."

Scheffler applied pressure with birdies on five holes during his back-nine charge. He set the clubhouse target at 19-under, tying with Gary Woodhouse who matched the course record of eight-under 62 in his final round. Despite this challenge, Lee held firm to claim victory.
Sami Valimaki finished three shots behind in fourth place after matching Woodland's impressive 62 on Sunday. Rory McIlroy tied for fifth place with a strong finish that brought him to 15-under. This was McIlroy's last tournament before The Masters in April.
McIlroy had a slow start but improved significantly over the weekend. He shared insights about his game adjustments: "The last three days were really good," he told Golf Channel. "I actually made a slight adjustment to my driver yesterday; I went to the range and took the loft off a little bit and definitely drove the ball better today."
McIlroy expressed satisfaction with his performance despite some challenges: "As I went on during the week, I went better and better, as the score suggests." He acknowledged areas for improvement but felt positive about fine-tuning his game ahead of Augusta.
He also mentioned dealing with an elbow issue: "My right elbow has been bothering me a little bit, so I'll maybe just get some treatment on that and make sure that is OK going into Augusta." Overall, McIlroy viewed it as a solid week of preparation.
The Houston Open showcased intense competition and remarkable performances from top golfers. Lee's victory marked a significant milestone in his career while other players like McIlroy used it as valuable preparation for upcoming challenges.
