Mitchell Robinson Ready To Play For Knicks In Game 1 Of NBA Finals Against Spurs
Mitchell Robinson is expected to be available for the New York Knicks when they face the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday. Robinson took part in full practice on Tuesday, and sources told Shams Charania of ESPN that Robinson should play.
The Knicks centre was listed as questionable after surgery last week on a broken pinkie finger on Robinson’s right hand. The procedure came shortly before the Finals, yet medical staff have now cleared Robinson for the opener in San Antonio, according to the same report.

How the injury occurred remains unclear, and team officials have not offered a detailed explanation. Knicks coach Mike Brown did confirm it did not happen during a game or scheduled practice session. That absence of contact raises questions, though the team is focused on Robinson’s availability.
Robinson has featured in 13 of New York’s first 14 play-off games across the opening three rounds. The 7-footer came off the bench in the Eastern Conference finals-clinching win at Cleveland on May 25, logging more than 17 minutes in that decisive victory.
Across the post-season, Mitchell Robinson is averaging 5.3 points and 5.5 rebounds, offering interior defence and rebounding depth behind the starters. With Robinson available for Game 1 against the Spurs, the Knicks retain their usual rotation options entering the Finals stage.
