Pune, Mar 13 (UNI) Vidyarthi Sena, the student wing of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), has threatened to launch an agitation if volunteers from outside Maharashtra are recruited for the Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG), to be held here at Balewadi from October 12 to 18.
MNS Corporator Kishor Shinde, while addressing a press conference today, warned CYG Chairman and city MP Suresh Kalmadi that interest of the state will be safeguarded only if volunteers for CYG are recruited from the colleges of Maharashtra.
As many as 2,000 players and officials from 71 countries will be in the city during the CYG.
He also requested the Organising Committee Chairman to launch a website in Marathi for recruitment of volunteers so that it is convenient for the Maharashtrian boys and girls to work for the CYG.
